Learn How to Count Calories - Step 4 - Controlling How Much You Eat

By now, you’ll have already learned about the basic concepts of calories, how to count them, and have decided how much calories you’re going to take daily. Congratulations on making it this far! This is the fourth step of your 5-step plan in learning how to count calories.

Now that you have decided on a daily calorie intake that can help you lose weight, we’re going to talk about controlling how much you eat. Obviously, counting calories and setting goals won’t be enough. You need to put that into action and lose that fat.

I understand this may be the most difficult step. What we need to do to help you out, is to keep things real, practical, and feasible. What I mean is we need to taper or wean you off your usual eating habits until you fully implement the number of calories you’re supposed to be eating daily to lose weight.

Let’s say for example you drink 10 glasses of soda daily. That’s a lot of soda (and a lot of calories)! So you can lose weight, you’ll need to get rid of this habit completely.

Saying that starting tomorrow, you won’t drink soda (not even 1 drop!) is impractical, unrealistic, and not feasible. You’re mind might be set on the idea but your body will be screaming for your daily dose of soda. So what we need to do to help you completely get rid of the habit is to take things slowly.

Instead of immediately getting rid of the soda-habit on day 1, why not drink 8 glasses of soda on day 1 instead of 10? On day 2, you can drink 6 glasses and so on until you reach day 5 where you shouldn’t be drinking any glasses of soda at all. This way, we taper your body off your habits until it gets used of not having them. Apply these on your other eating habits. This will help you control what you eat.

Another technique on controlling what you eat is to drink a glass of water before meals. This will help you get full faster. A major advice most professionals can give you is to eat 5 meals a day. That’s three nutritious meals and two light snacks. This will help you feel full throughout the day and diminish those sudden food cravings and eating impulses. Just make sure you fit your daily caloric intake within those 5 meals. That should be a cinch for you, now that you know how to count calories!

  1. People today eat way more than they used to — and way more than they need to. This means that they're constantly taking in more calories than their bodies can burn. Unfortunately, lots of us don't realize that we're eating too much because we've become so used to seeing (and eating!) large portions.

Customers love to feel like they're getting the best value for their money! But the value meal is no deal when it triples our calories and sets the stage for health problems.

Once we know the types of foods and quantities we should be eating, it's easier to figure out how much of that heaping plate of food our bodies actually need as opposed to how much they want. Instead of going along with what your school cafeteria or favorite restaurant puts on your plate, you can take control by eating only the amount you need

  2. I agree that this may be the difficult step. because it's not easy to change your habit...

just like ms.elisha said that people nowadays eat more than the usual. so they take in more calories! especially nowadays a lot of fast food chains are everywhere! and it's true, they're delicious. HAHAHAHAHA. that's why you can't blame people for it.! :D

  3. Wonderful article yomama...

But sorry because I do not plan in following it. I'm underweight you see and I plan on gaining weight, not loosing it. Ms. Andales, for people like me, value meals are of great value... I don't mind tripling my calories... I need them a lot... Calories aren't that bad. They are our energy source and I believe, the more calorie you have the more energetic you become. In my case, I burn more calories than I store, thus making me underweight. I don't think this calorie thing would work on underweight people but hey, in our world today, there are more overweight people than obese. This article would really help them in slowly loosing some of their fats/ weight.

THe article, I believe is talking about slow adaptation. I heard a saying before... "If you put a frog in a hot pot then the frog jumps immediately out from the pot. But put it in the pot while its still cold and then slowly heat the pot, then the frog would be accustomed to the changing temperature and wouldn't jump out, and later on it would be cooked..." Maybe not a good example but my point is... Taking change slowly would make sure that the body would be accustomed to the change while sudden change might do unexpected and maybe even harmful things to the body. Just imagine as the frog being your goal and the pot and the fire are the things you do to achieve that goal...

  5. Mr. gervacio: hahahaha! well, who should we blame then?.....

Ms.Andales: really?hahahaha..if we'll not get along w/ what they serve, what should we eat then? We can't ignore the calling of our body....hahaha

  6. Ms. Traces: i agree w/ you...making things/ changes slowly can really help the body become used to it and may have a good result...

  7. Mr. Gervacio we're on the same boat! I admit this is the hardest step. But as long as a person is really focused and has the will to do it... I guess its not impossible right?

Like what I said on the previous article..we should take things slowly so that our body would be able to adapt on the change. :)

  8. INDEED THIS IS THE MOST DIFFICULT STEP @YOMAMA!
    ITS MY BIGGEST PROBLEM EVER.

good idea about the soda thing, like i think its a way of not avoiding the fatty-habit, but just lessening it until youre not getting used to it anymore. AMAZIIIING!

now im starting to drink a glass of water before meals. wee :)

  9. I agree that this the hardest part of all the steps 'cause your going to adjust everything, not just on your physical aspect but as well as on your emotional and psychological aspect too. :D

While reading this article, i remember my lesson in health during high school. People who literally turned their lives 360 degrees by stopping their vices completely usually acquire withdrawal syndrome. They're experiencing certain disease after they stopped doing what they used to do. So i guess it's not good to let go of something completely at a time. You just have to do it step by step :D

    Keep calm and chill :D

  10. like a motto from a gasoline station, "every drop counts."

we need to consider that every gram of food we eat has an equivalent calorie content, that is why eliminating the unimportant food group in our diet plan is a big help. like eating sweets and drinking sodas that is very well known as high-calorie content food.

so, the hard part in the first paragraph is within the word "eliminating". that is to actually change your eating habits, which i know, very hard to do. especially if you have a sweet tooth or you are now dependent to sodas every after you eat. so, i guess, the best thing to do there is to, motivate yourself and sacrifice a lil' bit. :))

  11. I failed step 3, so I was kind of hesitant to follow step 4, and I'm not on a weight loss program even. The "drink a glass of water before a meal" thing really helps, I don't do it often because I don't have intentions to lose weight, but I've tried it and it really helps you get full faster so you won't have to take more than what you need. I agree on the comments above that this will alter your daily eating routine, but nothing is difficult to ppl who wants to lose weight really bad. If you're obese, fat, overweight and you think this is too difficult, then I think you're not ready yet, and you should be.

"There are no shortcuts to a place worth going".

Hahahhaha, loljk. If Yo mama so rich, you can go under the knife, get a surgery, liposuction maybe. whatever satisfies you, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  12. what a very long saying ms. traces. :))but your point is very clear. they say, bad habits are hard to change and it applies very much on lifestyle changes. when this certain thing has been your routine for the longest time, then it's gonna be really hard to alter. just take it slow, so slow. consistency is the key. and also determination.

like ms. osias i'm not on a weight loss program so i'm not planning on controlling what i eat any sooner. hahaha.

@ms. traces, your statement "the more calorie you have the more energetic you become" doesn't apply everytime. because there are some people with lots of calories in their bodies but have a sedentary lifestyle.

    ReplyDelete
  13. @ms. carcallas -- I blame no one... Nowadays, people have a hectic schedule so they buy foods that are ready to eat... so they rush to their favorite fast food chain to eat... I'm not saying that all people do that ok? so I blame no one!

  15. counting how much I eat? well, i think it's a good idea but losing weight is not really in my vocabulary. :D I just eat what i want as long as it's not prohibited by my beliefs and principles in life. hahaha ALL I WANT IS TO GAIN WEIGHT a little bit.

@yomama, can i request an article for people who wants to gain weight, but not that much. i know your blog is all about losing weight, but can you consider my request? please? :)

    ReplyDelete
  16. Changing your lifestyle is one of the hardest things to do since you are already accustom as to what are the things that you usually needs to do and as to what the article said that we must alter some of our habits in order to lose weight.

@Ms Marturillas, I think you have a point because it really needs the will to change some of your habits and most importantly self discipline, as for me, is one of the stepping stone in accomplishing your goals especially if you really are determine to lose weight. :))

And also, Yo'Mama is right that this step is really the hardest :))

    ReplyDelete
  17. True, controlling isn’t an easy task. Especially when you’re used to it, people try to have the the full-stomach technique for them to feel of what you call ‘satisfaction’, but nowadays, food being served are different, in fastfood chains, they don’t use the healthiest oil in the world, in restos, they don’t use the healthiest ingredients, but eventhough this things go, people still feed from them, have a meal worthy of they’re prices. Not even thinking of the nutrients and esp. calories in it, as long as its yummylicious to the eyes and affordable. Sometimes, limiting isn’t enough, have some exercise, if you have eaten much then burn them, don’t wait for calories to run from your body because surely, THEY WON’T. Say yes to healthy lifestyle, say yes to change, say yes to enough and normal calorie intake. 
@MS.CARCALLAS: It seems that you question everything laid upon by some commentators in this site. Ahaha, anyways, when you asked MR.GERVACIO about the blaming thing, let me scrutinize a bit, we’ve got no one to blame, our body has its own needs, its just that, WE NEED TO USE OUR BRAINS SOMETIMES and learn the word Control in a slow manner for our body to adapt than doing it fast and being rejected. 

    ReplyDelete
  18. I'm with Ms. Osias, Im not in a weight loss program. Like Ms. Traces , I want to gain weight because I burn a lot of calories. I believe also that this is the most difficult part because changing one's habit is not that easy. Like what Ms. Bandala told us about smoking, if you smoke for example 5 sticks a day, try smoking 3 or 4 sticks the next day then 2-3 sticks, don't cut it off, allow your body to adapt. In this way, you'll be able to change your habit. Remember to be willing to do it so that you will achieve it. Take things slowly.

  19. Step 4 - Crucial, hardest part? I guess? Hahaha. In my previous comment at Step 3, I said that I would it share it to my parents. I never thought @Yo' Mama would still add another step. So, talking about my parents, this step would be hard for them. Right? But duh, it's for their own good. I know soon, I'd be doing this too, but not NOW. Am not on a weight loss program like @Ms. Osias and @Mr. Sabay. But still, I'm aware and in control of what I eat. Hohoho. You should too. Be happy guys, we're still young. But then again, BE AWARE AND TAKE CONTROL.

@Yo'Mama D'you think I should tell them this? I mean, like, how? I need help. I really want to paste these steps on their mind. I'm a worried daughter, you know? How will I share this to them in a convincing manner? :D

  21. Okay, people should really stop "TOO MUCH EATING!". Others turned into robots when they start to hold a spoon and a fork, they just can't stop eating. Parents should cook more veggie stuff so that their kids won't eat too much. Kids nowadays really hate eating plants. Human are really ANIMALS :)

    ReplyDelete
  22. step 4 really annoys me.. i really can't stop myself form limiting those yummy foods.. huhuuh.. chocolates, burgers, fires... yumyum.. but byebye..i have to limit you..
i totally agree with you ms minoza, and i'm guilty on not wanting veggies on my plate..
@ms traces, i think your'e right that this articles speaks about slowly adapting to changes.
our will always makes our success

    ReplyDelete
  23. actually, i kind of disagree to the people who are saying that this step is the hardest of all... as what i have understood, the article emphasizes that you should SLOWLY let your body be accustomed to the changes you make concerning your diet, which makes it easier compared to days of sudden exercise or sudden minimal-food-intake (because it increases the possibility of us eating more in a next meal) or even counting calorie intakes. our mom always reminds us that "it takes 3 weeks to break a bad habit, and 3 weeks to form another". so using the "slow-and-steady" way of changing our eating habits is easier and more do-able, since sooner or later our body adapts to the changes we make (letting us crave for food less).

people say that it is "hard to change", but you see... this article actually introduces us to a new, easy way of changing. :)

    ReplyDelete
  24. i think what i gave as an example about quitting smoking is applicable in this article also. i admit that this is the hardest part because as what others have already said, it is really hard to change what you are accustomed to. it is like cutting a part of your memory or a part of your life.
i've already tried a hundred times changing my eating habit but all was turned to nothing. i agree with Ms. Marturillas that what it all takes is will and determination. because, if your focus of that goal of reducing your calorie intake then you will succeed. the problem with me is that, i have lot more things to prioritize like my studies that's why i tend to ignore and forget that i'm a weight loss program.

busy people tend to compensate by eating. so, i have a really big problem with this. because as long as there is still school, i really can't prioritize this matter. but thanks anyway because this is a big help for future purposes. when i'm done with my course and will have the chance to focus on it already.

  25. As what Ms. Tan said in the previous article, losing weight is really a gradual process. I believe that instilling in our minds about discipline and facts that we have learned from the past articles until now and putting into action, can make a big difference into our lives.:)

From my experience, I used to drink 2 bottles of soft drinks in a day, and suddenly I became anxious and worried. And I really took my time, until I learned to lessen it and to never crave for it. It worked! Now, I only drink soft drinks occasionally:)

    ReplyDelete
  26. @Yo'mama thanks for this amazing article.:)
Seriously, I sometimes drink a glass or two of water before meals. And it's true, I only eat less. I didn't have any intentions of losing weight, I only do that to replenish my thirst without even knowing that it is helpful in losing weight:)

Also eating fruits before meals, it just not makes you full before eating meals but it detoxifies our system:)

Step 4 is kinda hard and easy. Hard in the sense that people needs to adjust and change their eating habits to effectively lose weight with exercise of of course. Easy if making adjustments is easy for you, and you don't have any issues about food:)

    ReplyDelete
  27. I agree with Ms. Suarez that this is not the hardest step of all. It may not be easy but not the hardest if you are really determined to lose weight. As the saying goes, "where there's a will, there's a way." The change in your diet should be gradual. You would just obviously crave for more if you suddenly stopped eating something. We should take it slowly but surely. We should keep it up until it becomes a habit. It may be hard at first but have the determination and continue to do it if you really want to lose weight.

  31. It's really true that people nowadays eat more as they can for eating too much is now a habit for all those who are always hungry time by time, stressed and etc..
Yes, controlling the calories intake and setting goals is very important , but tapering our usual eating habits??? it's indeed very difficult.
I admit that sometimes I missed a meal and sometimes I eat too much especially if it's noodles. I really don't mind as long as i love the food that i eat and i eat as long as i like. But, i always do drink water every before and after meal so i don't know if i can get rid of my usual eating habit and fit the caloric intake with my meals. Now that I know this is one of the important ways to control everything that our body needs involving the calories, I would love to try it step by step to control my eating habits....
BUT, JUST LIKE THE OTHERS, SORRY IF I COULD'NT DO IT SOMETIMES BECAUSE WHAT ALSO MATTERS FOR ME IS MONEY, IF It's less then, i would lack food and if i'll hold much, i honestly like to spend it all for food only, maybe because of my stressful times and days.

    ReplyDelete
  32. okay... mr. Amil,ms. Tan, ms. Andales and all the others who find this step really hard, I get it. But ms. Suarez has a point too. It's not just about cutting your usual food or habits but it about making it less hard for your body adjusting beacuse of the adaptation your body does by gradually doing it.

Take for example Damon or Stephen, vampire diaries leading men. They take vervain little by little together with their food (blood). Though its one of their kryptonite, introducing it to thier system made their body have adapt to those small doses. Thus when large doses of vervain are introduce to their system, it will have a reduce effect on them and it prevents them from being compelled by "the originals".

So you see?(for those who can relate with my example... :D) It's all about making your body A.D.A.P.T. to those little changes, then with out knowing making another habit, which is for the better... :D

  33. I don't wanna sound so rude but the step 4 in learning how to count your calories is the most obvious thing to do when you wanna lose up.. I mean I think we are running around the bush already.. I would wanna know things that are NEW and unfamiliar to me..

    ReplyDelete
  34. nowadays, people eat a lot because of many different reasons..primarily, i think its due to stress and gluttony ..

this article main goal is to teach people how to count there calorie intake everyday..and it is very useful to us because our calorie intake everyday can affect our health ..Calorie is very important in our body because it gives us energy to do our day to day works..And the energy is to be utilized on our body functions..if we consume more foods that has many calories more than we just need the calories will be stored fats..so, if you don't want to get fat try to measure your calorie in take, have low-calorie diet, and increase you're physical activities..

through reading this article i now realized that drinking a glass of water before eating is a good help..And honestly, i do that i drink before i eat.i honestly don't know that before .and i thank yo'mama for always giving us new knowledge that can help us in ways..

Ms.intong: we're really the same..after drinking water it really lessens the food i eat..and I'm happy because honestly, i don't want to get fat..

Ms.Aparece: i think you don't really need to not eat those ..eating less can help you..it is okay as long as you don't eat it too much..and i know it will really be hard because those foods are really tempting..

Ms.tan: yes! you're right its really hard to change a thing which you are used to..but i think as long as you have really urge to change you can really control and discipline yourself as long as you put in mind that it is and it will be for the better..

    ReplyDelete
  35. This article is of great help. Hahaha~~
drinking water makes a person full faster than the normal. I can relate. haha~~ every morning my throat feels dry and since I don't want to choke up on my food, I drink water before I eat. And because of this, I do not eat a lot in the morning.

Just like F. Traces said, change must happen slowly. This should be done so that the body gets accustomed to the change. Just like what they do in the Rehab Center. You expect that in Rehab the people are not allowed to do their vices, but they actually are. They are allowed to smoke, sniff drugs and drink, but as the days pass they are to do it less until they completely stop. ^^ i was shocked to learn that at first~~ but then again, if you change your lifestyle abruptly your body would not be able to handle it...

Another thought crossed my mind. Isn't there a show that makes obese people lose weight directly?? (I think the title is "The Biggest Loser.") Anyways, my point is... Isn't that bad for the body.. to lose weight directly? Aren't you supposed to lose weight little by little?? I saw the people try to lose weight so hard, that they end up crying because it was too much for them to take... -_-" (so out of topic X)~~ just like how people should slowly let go of their vices.. aren't they supposed to slowly lose their weight?)

    ReplyDelete
  36. @Ms Ganir: hahaha, i feel you. but yeah, let's give Yo Mama some credit coz he still made the article. take it as a reminder or something because most of us learn by repetition. anyway, the aim of this website is to LOSE WEIGHT. and by losing weight, i mean principles that people surely know by heart, but are too lazy or unmotivated to practice. i'm sure most of us feel that Yo Mama's articles speak about facts that we already know...but we should commend him/her for spelling it out again and supplementing it with some facts or methods. i approve of the point you said about new and unfamiliar facts, but hey, we should understand that points are being repeated for everyone's benefit. hahaha. :D

    ReplyDelete
  37. @Ms Alpuerto: i'm not so sure about people eating coz of gluttony per se...you know, 90% of weight loss plan failures are accounted to emotional eating. some people are not aware that in the process of destressing, they are committing a deadly sin. it's not because of gluttony, it's mostly due to emotional burden. ask anyone who's a bit on the heavy side why they love to eat so much even though they're gaining lots, i'm sure they'd say that it's because of stress or depression. nyahahaha. >:))

    ReplyDelete
  38. the article is not focusing on the "count your calories" part anymore, ms. ganir. it is actually telling us other things we can choose to add or do when we have finished the other steps. i think what you are trying to say is that this article focuses too much on ways of losing weight.. which is the very purpose of the site. but you do have a point, a new topic wouldn't hurt.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I just remembered one of the articles by Yo Mama saying that eating BRUNCH would gain more calories. It was indeed true! I noticed that my body is starting to develop belly. lol. Though it's weird but i like it! I think I could gain more energy if my body also contains a lot of calorie. But I know my limitations. I wanna gain more calorie to releive stress and I guess most of us already knew that.

For me, more calorie, more energy, more time to study. That's my main goal especially now that I have to double my efforts to pass this year level. :)

    ReplyDelete
  40. Ms. Li, the "BIGGEST LOSER" tv show was successful in their aim. I've seen how the contestants eat (their actions really pictured how they got those bodies), and they're not deprived to do that. With the accompaniment of intense mandatory challenges and exercises, and STRICT INSTRUCTORS, gradually, they were able to have a great change in them and out of them.
MAybe, there are a lot of lessons to be learned from doing great paces in life and we achieve them by following the universal laws. :) INSPIRING!

    ReplyDelete
  41. HMMmm. But as I pondered and think down low of my doings, it's not hard to accomplish the task Yo' Mama, so i say, "CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!"
hahah. but oftentimes, some people have less appetite, and have no money to fulfill their cravings, so they're SO SAFE of not having excess calories.

The truth is, I can't also do it completely, as in everyday, because I don't have enough discipline but that won't affect my figure anyway, so why bother?
The water part is the simplest one to do, it really makes one's tummy full with less food only.. so GREAT! :D

    ReplyDelete
  42. so true ms. suarez! i think this step isn't really the hardest part of all because since we've got into several articles, we've always been reminded to TAKE THINGS SLOWLY. so there's no excuse for us to consider it hard, it's just a matter of WILL and PERSEVERANCE. but since we're into FILIPINO culture, we usually practice the "next time manner". uhm, what i'm trying to say is that we already knew what to do but yet we hesitate to do it maybe because we're busy or just lazy to do it. hehehe :))

    ReplyDelete
  43. @Ms.Ocon, well i think the Filipino Culture you are preferring is the "later theory"? i dont believe that filipinos are lazy nowadays. #justsaying

    ReplyDelete
  44. ms. padigos: hahaha! yeah! so i think i should say "CHALLENGE ACCEPTED" too to Yo'Mama despite the fact that i really don't have the intention about losing weight coz i'm already contented about my body. and i'm not planning to change it either since my mother might be worried if i get thin. hahaha! (just kidding!) but maybe i can use this for future purposes too just like ms. tan. hehe

BUT, i would like to clarify you about your "water part thingy". hmm, i don't think it's good if you drink water a lot yet your tummy doesn't have the enough food it needs. though it effectively loses weight but we should also consider that our body needs calorie. so we should not deprive it from taking any. drinking water is good but see to it that our tummy has ENOUGH food, not LESS. hehe. :))

    ReplyDelete
  45. hahaha i know it's just an example BUT 10 SODAS A DAY SOUNDS TOO EXTREME IF YOU ASK ME!!!!!!!!!!! oh gawd, i wouldn't really wonder if that kid got a hard knock on sicky feeling. anyway, yes, if you are getting addicted to something (or having something as a routine) that is not good, never EVER! lay off of it quickly. uhhmm, don't stop it abruptly. it causes you a lot of things, and particularly, depression. it's impossible, and unideal. for short, it's not healthy. when you're trying to cut back on those stuff, say for example, drinking sodas 10x per day, and not drinking even a single one the next days to come would actually cause you some serious damage. there's something called 'withdrawal syndrome' (i'm actually not quite sure of the proper term) but yes, something like that. it happens when you abruptly stop an addiction or a daily routine and it causes depression and some other causes which up to this point, i am not knowledgeable of. xDDDDDDDDD hihihi (oh gawd, i sound too formal) AHOY MAYTEY! if yir want to stop yir naggin jaggin, stop moderately. who knows? something you think might help you could actually make you feel worse :)

    ReplyDelete
  46. ms. nuez: oh sorry, i really don't know what term to be used. i'm just expressing my opinion. hehe. ok, so i say it's the "LATER THEORY"! thanks for correcting me anyway. :)

hmm, i'm not saying that Filipinos are lazy, i'm just recognizing the possible reasons why some people find it hard to lose weight. didn't you notice the word "MAYBE"? so i'm not really saying that they are lazy, perhaps for some i guess.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Yes, Ms. Cerna. I can feel you. You're right about more calories, more energy, then, more time to study. That's my problem too, I don't know how to adjust or set the limits for me, because, if I won't eat, I can't study that much and the terms wouldn't stay in my head, but if I'll eat more, I'll surely gain weight, especially that I have noticed that I have a slow metabolism.
But, the topic is all about counting up calories as an effective way to lose weight in a healthy manner. And that means, we should should be eating just how much our bodies need everyday in relation to our activities. Right?
    #lovelots

    ReplyDelete
  48. Ms. Nuez and Ms. Ocon: thanks to you, I realized that culture can also affect one's diet. Because culture affects our beliefs, and beliefs obviously, affect our everyday system including our perception about diet and nutrition through the food we eat.
In relation with these, location, your level in the society, and what's fab can also affect one's diet and his/her perceptions about cutting off the calorie intake.

  49. Yeah, this maybe is the hardest step. why?????? because we need to make a GRADUAL CHANGE in our daily routine(don’t know if I’m fortunate or unfortunate enough since this doesn’t apply to me since I’m intending to gain weight. ) But I guess if a person has conviction and dedication together with a course of action, he will be able to succeed in whatever he is doing.

    To ms. Traces:

Basically the article tackles about slow adaptation.as I’ve said in the past article, if you would do it hastily, your body’s function might be altered, thus leading to irreversible damage.

    To ms. Carcallas:

There is nothing to be blame off but ourselves because we tend to eat more than what our body needs to perform vital functions. It’s just matter of learning how to DISCIPLINE and to SATISFY ourselves.

No, i also think that not all Filipinos are lazy.. But how can we explain the majority of our population being jobless? Because there's not enough jobs? No, i don't think so. TV personalities are always talking about Filipinos being determined and driven, but hey, let's not generalize. Not all Filipinos are lazy, but not all Filipinos are will-driven either. Some of us really need to grow a backbone.

As the saying goes, "If there's a will, there's a way". We need a strong will to get what we want and to be where we want. This applies to every aspects in our lives, even in dieting.

  51. @ Ms. Marturillas and Mr. Gervacio I agree that this is the hardest step..u see ive been planning to lose weight ever since i can remember, but i end up gaining weight even more.

But there is one particular thing that the article said that i should follow, that is drinking water before eating and i really do follow that...i drink 2 glasses of water with a interval of 2 minutes per glass..before i eat..who knew that it was a good practice according to the article :) that kinda makes me happy in some way :))

@lizelle Carnicer...i gree with you as you agree to Ms. Nuez and Ms. Ocon that not all Filipinos are lazy..cause statistical study show that most countries hire Filipinos more than other nationalities because Filipinos are more hardworking. But then again, where did the story Juan Tamad originate?...i kinda think it was still originated from the story Lazy Tom..(so out of topic already >.<)

like i said in the past article...i will start following the articles yo mama suggested on doing to lose weight...everyone wish me luck :))

    thanks to yo mama :))

  52. Ok, i haven't read the other steps since I was too busy lately, but I think this 4th step isn't that very new to me. I never am a soda drinker type of person. I don't usually drink sodas (not unless I have no choice) only on special occasions but on a limited amount. Anyways, as what ms.suarez said this site is made to help people loose weight and though this might not be too helpful for me, I know it would be very helpful to others. Credits to yo mama. Still looking forward for more NEW and Useful weight loosing tips. :)

It seems you are telling that this article is only for the people who want to lose weight. am I right??

But I think reading this article provided us much relevant information regarding our actual health status and reminding us that being attentive to our body is a necessity to live life.
