Benefits of Fish Oil


Probably, one of the most beneficial health supplements out there is Fish Oil. If you are obese, have joint paints/arthritis, have heart problems or infertile (for males), then fish oil might just be your answer! Let’s take a look at the reasons why.

In a research done regarding fish oil on 12, 000 subjects, statistics showed that there was nearly a 50% reduction from death caused by a heart attack. The reason for this is because fish oil has an effect on your body’s fat stores. It tends to metabolize (or melt away) your body fat, lowering your cholesterol levels. This is good for the heart because less fat will accumulate along your heart vessels, which keep you way from a heart attack. Furthermore, it can be paired with exercise to help you lose weight. As long as you take at least 1 gram of fish oil a day, you can accomplish this fact.

Fish oil also has the ability to decrease your heart rate. So if you’re suffering from an abnormally increased heart rate, which can eventually lead to a condition called cardiomegaly that causes death, you can take this as a supplement.

If you are having problems with arthritis or joint pain, you can take fish oil to help drive the pain away. However, you will need a higher daily intake of fish oil for this. A recommended 7-10 grams daily is ideal for you.

Another conducted research on fish oil shows that it has a positive effect with regards to sperm quality. The study focused on Omega-3, which can be found in fish oil.

The safest way to take fish oil is to take 1 gram for every 10 lbs of your body. So if you weigh around 50 lbs, you’re not supposed to take more than 5 grams of fish oil in a day. Even if fish oil is a natural chemical, it is harmful if taken in large quantities. Don’t get the idea to take a lot just so you can lose weight faster.  If you want things to be completely safe, consult your physician and what he or she thinks about fish oil and its benefits for you.

  3. Reading the blog uplifted my hope as I thought of my father's health. In the past more or less 10 years, he has been taking so many medications for his heart condition. I dont know exactly what exactly his ailment is but oftentimes his blood pressure is high specially when he's stressed due to work and other businesses. It is good to know that fish oil can help decrease a person's heart rate and less fat can be accumulated in the blood vessels which can keep my dad from heart attack. High cholesterol level has always been the common problem of my family. Upon knowing about this great fact, that fish oil lowers its level, I will certainly phone my dad when I wake up and tell him to see his physician immediately and let him ask about further goodness of this fish oil to his health. More power! :)
